Justice - what's that then?
This one has really got my blood boiling.
Scum steals car, kills child in hit & run and gets... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/l...re/4739670.stm F***ing unbelievable. I hope that the sentence is appealed. |
You're not the only one - its a total sham.
If you kill some one like that, you should face charges of death through dangerous driving - along with the other charges of no insurance, license etc. This kid should do at least 10 years inside for it. |

Well he wasnt caught speeding, so it's all alright then.

Thats awful. I bet the driver that hit my mate and killed him and then drove off gets something similar, its just wrong so totally wrong

let me fan the flames....
would the fact he's in a racial "minority" have owt to do with it? would the judge feel aprehensive at sending him down for longer cos of his creed? i dunno, thinking out loud. i hope and expect i'm very very wrong..... but the sentence is just a ****ing joke. simple as that |

Why WASNT he charged with death by dangerous driving? Gut feeling is its more likely to be police/cps incompetance than the judge getting up that morning thinking "hmm, ill let someone off the hook today". |

In this case, maybe, maybe not, but it def does happen, sorry but regardless of the guy's colour, religion or sexual preferences he should be locked up & the key thrown away & do they really think he will take any notice of a driving ban, lethal injection springs to mind. |
If he was on 2 wheels he would have got 5 years, at least.....
*******s like this need to be put agaisnt a wall and shot... Plain & simple. . |
He handed himself in apparently which might have helped him out, but it should be 12 weeks for:
Stolen car No insurance No licence Let alone hitting the kid and running, throw away the key, how incodiderate do you have to be to do all of that!? |
Justice, hmmmmm...justice???
Nope cant say ive seen any of that in this country for many years now. We get those 2 who rape a baby and get 6 yrs for it, we get this guy who kills a kid and might as well be given some jelly and ice cream for all that sentance is worth. Who remembers the law student in a volvo who hit a biker and took off his foot and never reported it but got just 2 months for it. Is there any actual guidlines for sentancing in this country? Do they make it up as they go along or is it simply a case of having a lawyer/barrister who knows the best funny handshakes and drops trousers for the majority of judges when they all meet up at the local freemasons lodge? None of it makes any semse to me :( |
I'm not defending it, exactly, but if they'd thought they could make a case for dangerous driving or vehicular manslaughter, they almost certainly would have. I don't know why they didn't, mind- there could be a godo reason, there might not. The reports I've seen don't suggest that he was driving dangerously, speeding, on the wrong side of the road, or anything like that. Anyone know more?

The system stinks. Any driver can make a mistake and when they do they are normally hauled over the coals. This driver made no mistake
No licence no insurance etc. out on bail. He did not make a mistake he should never have been behind the wheel. This was a deliberate act to attempt to drive a vehicle he knew himself to be unqualified to control. Then there is the failing to stop etc which IMHO is unexcusable and should carry more than the 5 weeks for each of the failings he has been jailed for. I hate to stir up the hornets nest of political correctness and the guys obvious race. But when the poo hits the fan over this (and it will) the racists within this country are going to have a propoganda field day. Simple. killing somebody by hitting them with a vehicle you are not licensed/insured is not careless driving. to my mind it is tantermount to murder. no different to pulling a trigger Scum, according to this evening news, he was speeding, 45 in a 30, car was stolen with false plates and he was driving irratically. Death by dangerous driving should be the correct charge |
I only hope that the nature of his offence is 'somehow' publicised throughout the prison in which he serves his sentence.

I'd love for the scumbag to rot, but it does have to be done right, is my point. |
And to cap it all, the person that stole the kid's teddy from the memorial got....
12 weeks. |
And yet for the really heinous crime of refusing to pay his council tax, a local 72 year old was jailed for 3 months!
It's a joke...................a SICK joke. |
So... there is never going to be Justice for this sort of crime.
Nothing can be done to bring the kid back, that life is over. That always gets me. When people start crying out for justice for some horrible crime. It doesnt exist... taking the guy out, killing him, whatever, there is still no justice. Its still just two shattered parents, bawling their eyes out. In this case though.. I dont see why he is not done for manslaughter. Surely manslaughter has a more severe sentence than a few weeks? |

Secondly , what the feck has his race got to do with anything. To be honest I'm getting increasingly irrititated by people always needing to make a connection with race with everything. That was no justice , 'End off....' Quote:
