What to get?
Next month I am looking at getting rid of the sv (it's not gonna last much longer me thinks) and getting a new bike. I kinda have my heart set on a 600 sports bike (new kwak would be lovely), but if I'm sensible and think about money and insurance then I might be wise to go for something else.
What bike would you all suggest and why? gsr600? fazer? hornet? newer sv? 400 sports? ...... All comments etc welcome, just wanna get lots of opinions. |
Depends what you want
I wouldnt buy a 400 Sports bike. They are all knocking on a bit now. My brother had an NC35 RVF 400 and his insurance was more than the insurance for my SV was. Personally if you want a SS 600 then go for it, take it for a test ride and see how you get on. Its not that the SV is a bad bike, its not its great. Its just that the a SS600 is alot more bike. I bet you're even more confused now eyh. I love the GSXR I'm really glad I bought it |
If you want a "sensible" sports 600, look at the CBR600F (not the RR). I wouldn't go for a new Fazer personally, but the Kwack Z750 is worth a look.
Just make sure you test ride a few and don't bow to peer pressure, get a bike that suits you.... . |
my next one will be a kawasaki z750. first model... 2003 or 4 i think.
i have fallen in love with it! and the insurance is only about £150 more expensive than my SV... http://i11.ebayimg.com/05/i/06/ae/43/f8_1_b.JPG |
Hornet, then you can buy mine :D
Don't rule out a Daytona, they're terrific bikes, but as a D650 owner maybe I'm biased  |
I did think about the daytona, I like the style of it. I like all the supersports really.
I guess in the end I'll follow my heart, put myself in debt and get a ss 600. Now I just need to test ride them all and see which one is for me. |

This is the deal you are looking for.... You dont need to see my identification.... |
I know, I think I will get the kwak, but I wanna test them all and see which ss I prefer. mmmm ninja! :D
|
So now do I go for the lovely ninja with the underseat, or save a bit of money and go for the b1h model? That would be either £5790, or £3999.... is the extra money worth it?
|
no, go for the older model, underseat exhausts are tart handbags
and no storage space |
Im gonna play on a Tuono Saturday morning if ya wanna come :D
Get the 6RR, you know you wanna, you wont be happy with the lesser model, and its not a triumph or a Honda. The CBR600 is a good bike, just dull compared to the kwaks. I have done my best with your SV, but somehow i think it was past its best when i got my hands on it ;) |

GSXR750 aniversary model with the Yoshi exhaust there is one in Daytona's near me and its gorgeous!!!!!!!! If I could get insured on it I'd have it!!
|
GSXR750 anniversary colours? That's a Chav bike innit?!
As for my sv, it's seen better days and I blame a lot of the bad wear and tear on how stupid I was when I got it (the long time without topping up the oil didn't help matters) Next bike will definately be cared for. If it's not then I may lose Viney as a pal  Well if all goes to plan then I think I will go for the zx6r B1H model. Cheaper than the C model and still amazing. Just need to wait until mid-may. I can't wait... (oh and it won't be green!) |
Ok sorry i'm just excitable, my previous bike was a CBF600  yawn!
had a nice NSR before that mind! I love the daytona 675 at the mo is that a better choice? :D |

Daytona 675 is a lovely bike, but pricey and pretty hard to come by at the moment.
Yup that yellow errrrrrrrrr6n is foul! I don't like the style of that bike at all really. Shame as it had so much potential |
