dress code

I have been invited out on a bash tonight, described as "Black Tie", This does not bother me as I happen to own the prerequisite apparel. However I have been chatting with a couple of friends who advise me that they were just going to wear "lounge suits".

Do I go in the monkey suit and show my friends how it should be done. Or just wear a sober suit and blend in with my mates.

Do it with Style :D

Supervox 07-04-06 02:37 PM

Wear your leathers (with the black tie, of course). Bring the helmet and gloves for added effect.

Mr Toad 07-04-06 02:43 PM

Wear the penguin suit

or you could pretend you're a Jock, and wear a kilt

of course. My own personal tip with this sort of dress is the trouser wasteband is one size too big, that way it is not uncomfortable should the pigging get excessive. Nice red braces to make sure they stay up until you have expanded enough to manage it on your own.

JakeRS 07-04-06 02:53 PM

go dressed in nothing but the black tie

anna 07-04-06 02:54 PM

Black tie but wear a red one if you see what I mean, black tie is pretty miserable so liven it up a tad.

I like the sound of 'if the pigging gets excessive' When I worked in Wolverhampton I learned a new word - 'pogged'. As in 'I'm pogged'. Good innit.

Got to be the DJ or the full Prince Charlie if you're a Scot.

Leave the loutish behaviour of wearing of lounge suits to black tie events to the likes Gordon Brown (okay it was a white tie event, but you get the idea) .
