High or low note horn
 

Eying up a new Fiamm horn, but don't know weather to get the low or high note :?

Please advise :D

Go for the low note just like the Vtwin burble!!!!

Good point, low note it is.........besides i'd hate to sound like a scooter

Both as snail type horns, much better plus they fit easly on the radiator mounts inside the fairing panels.

I agree get both high and low tone, sounds really good gets you noticed :twisted:

Yep - get a Pair - they sound a bit like airhorns.

Can also confirm that you can fit one on either side inside the fairings by using the radiator bolts. PM Jim@55 for more info and possibly some pics.

If you get one or the other, you get a beep. If you get both, you get a horrendous warble that hurts people's brains. That's basically how they work, dissonance is more penetrating and attention-grabbing than a single note.

Had some fun with them on the Egg Run at the weekend... Loads of people beeping away with their feeble stock horns, then HHHHHOOOOOONNNNNK from me ;)

I've brought a single low note one already, can i just get the hi note one and wire both of them together?

yep ,get both ,theyre about £15 for both or£10 for one! Not much dearer and sound so much btr ,easy to fit too .if ure only gtng one get the lower tone ,the higher ones a kinda cartoon roadrunner 'beep' whereas the liwer ones a much btr sounding air horn sound (well kinda).ive got both horns on my bike amd the single low tone one on my car so i can directly compare ,get the twin pack(hi-lo)you will be scaring the **** out of peeps ,have fun honky :wink:

Back to your horn problem :lol: Tis a simple task to piggy back the wiring and the sound is a damn site better. If you ever get on a rideout again I'll give you a good honking so you can hear :twisted: :twisted:

I agree with the people who have said one of each. Single tones are notoriously hard to locate directionally. This is why some ambulances/emergency vehicles incorporate bursts of static (the easiest to place in your field of hearing) into their sirens.

Unfortunately, static would by its quality of randomly changing frequencies contravene the bit of the MOT that says a horn has to be a constant tone (yet another case of legislation/beauracracy getting in the way of common sense :roll:), so using if for your horn is a no-no.

If you really wanted to make it really noticeable, you could use 4 horns, 2 for high and 2 for low, but detune one of each pair so that they are dissonant. It'd be both easy to work out where it was coming from and so unpleasent sounding that even the most comatose cager could spot you. :twisted:
