Rob Berrington-Smith

Went to Rob's on Friday to get service, mot and get the fueling sorted as bike was stalling and 'jumpy' since I fitted the new can. Anyway, it seems that Rob is going back to S.A next week for good :( ( got a job offer he couldn't refuse ) and I was wondering who to use for future bike repairs ? I've tried a few places near me over the years but they haven't been that great one way or another !

Damn

Fizzy Fish 15-05-06 06:47 PM

yeah, Rob leaving will be a real loss to the London biking community! Still I can't blame him for going back, he's going to be involved in some off road racing which sounds absolutely wicked

think he's planning leaving drinks soon BTW if anyone's interested in coming along to wish him well

pepe 15-05-06 07:41 PM

Yeah it's a shame as he's a top bloke. He is ( I think ) going to be race manger for 2 to 4 cars in the S.A Championship and I think doing something with/in the Dakar Rally ! Can't blame him going at all

JediGoat 16-05-06 08:51 PM

Oh no! :(

Good news for him, but not so good for the rest of us.

Jo

Hi Jo, haven't seen you around on the forum much lately

how's it going?

Jelster 16-05-06 09:48 PM

Ness,

We need to get together and take him for a beer....

Rizla

It's been mad!!!!!

I've decided to give up the rat race for good, and have purchased a GirlsBike2 franchise and will be opening the london store in the next couple of months.....hopefully.

Lots of dealing with solicitors, accountants, estate agents, tax folk for now tho :(

Can't wait to have my own shop full of nice bike gear, and to spend all day talking about bikes and clothes :D

Wow - that's great news. For you, and for us. I kitted myself out at the Hitchin shop when I started out - really liked the ranges and the friendly service.

Good luck! Whereabouts in town are you going to be?

JediGoat 17-05-06 11:33 AM

As I don't want to hijack this thread....i'll start a new one to answer your questions.

So whens Rob leaving?

I could do with one last bike service before he goes :)

let me know the when and where for some beers, and if I'm in the UK I'll happily come along.

pepe 17-05-06 02:06 PM

Alansv, I think he's leaving either this weekend or next week at most, not 100% sure so would be worth giving him a call.

Jelster 17-05-06 10:16 PM

He's doing my 'Blade first thing Friday, before I shoot off to Le Mans for the weekend. I hope he doesn't go for a couple of weeks, must get him down the pub....

.

pepe 18-05-06 11:20 AM

I'll call him later as was I hoping he might be able to change the fork springs and oil before he goes ( depending on costs ! ) .

Hope you have a great trip Jelster.
