I am right handed, but judging by my chicken strips, I bank the bike over more on left handers.

Is this common and do lefties lean more on right handers. :?:

Pete is a leftie, but I'd say that what chicken strips we have are pretty much identical both sides.

I do, but for me anyway it's not because of handedness - it's to do with the throttle.

When countersteering I naturally push on the inner bar rather than pull on the outer bar as some seem to. This means I'm slightly less inclined to push as much on the throttle itself = less countersteering = larger chicken strip on the right.


I guess it shows I have more concern for fine throttle control that I have fear for my wonky knee, and that's the left one that I seem to be quite happy to bank towards! :shock:
Hey, its been broken before it's had the practise, I'd rather keep the right one pristine for comparison's sake!

Funny I always feel I can corner better going around a left hander.
Can just get my toe down on the left hand but don't know how far away I am on the right.
Had the shorter dog bones fitted and that jacked the back up 2 inches.... well thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it. :wink:

Surely, it's the roads you ride. I'm right-handed but I am more confident leaning in familiar constant radius turnings (roundabouts), so I wear down the right loads more. If I went to France I'll prob wear the left more.

Yup. Right handed and find left turns easier. I've definitely got thinner chicken strips on the left.

Me too, i can never feel completely comfortable on a right hander, and i cant figure out why!

That bieng said, the right hand side of my tyre has bigger strips, so theres the proof

The camber is in your favour on a leftie, against you on a right.

Excellent explanation. I thought the reason for my larger RHS chicken strip was my caution at roundabouts these days.

I prefer lefts, and I think I figured out why... On a left hander, my head's further from oncoming traffic, while my wheels are further from the c**p at the side of the road. Obviously, that makes no actual difference, but I used to be very paranoid of the edge of the road after running right out the outside of a fast right hander (still no idea at all why i didn't crash...) and I think that sank in.

The 2 fastest corners on my regular route are lefts as well, which probably helps.

Thought this was gonna be a thread about evil bank managers or financial advisers or somthin, glad it's not though.

Right handed and do right handers better(as most normal peeps :P ).

Really have to work at left handers.

Have found that the way to workis mostly left handers with all the rights at lights. The way home (not the same as the way to work) is mostley left handers with all the rights at lights. As the tyres have been on for winter and have not been out on her except for work seem to get down more on the left than the right.
