Annual Rideout 2007
I've seen the AR06 video's and pictures and would like to come to next year's. Is it possible for me to ride with you guys? I live in Malta (under Sicily) so have to find a way to get there first. Any suggestions? I've never went away that far before but I've been thinking about this a lot these past two years. It'll be a chance to meet you guys in person and not on some discussion topic on the net. I'm even thinking if it would be wise to rent a bike over there than coming on my own if that would be cheaper.
Any help/suggestions/thoughts would be greatful |
have no idea how you would get here etc but you would be more than welcome
|
Absolutely
|
Would be helpful if you had a bike you could use, but that's not essential of course and there were quite a few pillions there this year.
Best thing to do would be to check out which airports in the UK (I'm making a leap of faith about the location of AR06 here  ) Air Malta fly to and plan from there. You'd probably win the prize for the most travelled attender  |
ride up through Europe and make a decent trip of it. The AR07 will still be the highpoint
However, you could hire a SV for a weekend for £195 or for the week for £295 last time I checked the place in South London. Most places will require min age of 21, license and passport and credit card payment. If you need somewhere to stay initially I have spare room if that helps. Though will be a good couple hundred miles to wherever it is held from here. Link to give you an idea of whats available down here: http://www.raceways.net/show_rental_...acturer=Suzuki |

I bet Malta is not within "the Circle"
|
Believe it or not I have been contemplating showing Lolita where I once served my riding apprenticeship. Would be a major logistical effort but if the right venue is chosen me and my red beauty could pop along to see yerz. (If anything the threat of that should keep numbers down!) :P
|
Course you'd be welcome. We even allowed the Welsh in this year.
|
I aint coming if all you have to offer me is flat lands like Shropshire! Show me some hills boys! :P

We don't have mountains (not sorry about that, PH knows what I mean) but I'm sure I've seen a few pics of the view from the top of Clee Hill. |
From what I can ascertain, your Clee Hill is a council land refill site which overlooks lots of...yawn....flatland! Oh no I have to be inspired Ed. I mean you KNOW where I normally play, right? :P
|
We're more than happy for you to join us. If AR06 is anything to go by it will be a blast. High point of my biking year!

Supervox I shall rise above your uncouth attempt at humour.
Lolita and I will go on a nice train journey up to the north of Spain. There we will catch the Santander Plymouth ferry. All in an attempt to ensure we both arrive fresh of course. P.s. That LynW person can just stay right away from me! Enough is enough I tell you!!! |
I reckon petey baby will arrive in, whip off the lid with a distracted look on his face, and commence cleaning the Duc like a dervish.
Rocking back and forward, frantically mumbling "Definately shouldnt be this dirty, definately shouldn't be dirty, definately definately not dirty". This will procede into the early hours of the morning until he collapses of nervous exhaustion, where he will sleep restlessly clutching the bike. "rhubarb custard... Definately not an unreliable bike. Definately not... two from the top please Carol and any other four... stupid Supervox... mumble..." |

Can anyone fill me in on how long the Ride would take, a week? Would we carry our own camping gear or move from motel to motel? Any decision on the final route map? |
Ride out is usually on the day, with camping/b&b night before, night after.
No worries re the accomodation, if you need tents/sleeping bags people here could probably oblige. The link should give you an idea about the hire of bikes - there may be one more local to where the rideout is but a google search would find those. |
There appeared to be far too much "camping" going on at AR06 from what I have seen from some of the pics. Not sure If I will fit in really. I mean Spidey seems to get the job of entertaining all of the babes! :?
I would need someone with a sympathetic oultook, you know the type that would pick up an injured feathered friend from the side of the road? |
