Well done the Penguins.
The Penguins ( mrs Squid & Sarj were part of the team)
Trailwalker UK is a 100km trek across the South Downs of England, starting in Petersfield and ending in Brighton in aid of Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust. A picture paints a thousond words, here's a couple of thousand. Well done. http://upload4.postimage.org/623842/DSC08292.jpg http://upload4.postimage.org/623850/DSC08302.jpg Cheers Mark. |

Yup, a big well done to them all, they certainly looked knackered coming up to the finishing line  . Mad as hatters the lot of them, but big respect for what they did. Oh and the support crew, I believe, were first class too ;).

well done guys! (v. impressed BTW!)
|
Very impressive effort there. Even more so in this weather - it must have been akin to crossing the Sahara!
Anything to support the Gurkhas is a good thing - an oft forgotton staunch protector of these here shores, and a very polite bunch of lads too. |

Thank you all for your kind words! :D
It was a pretty tough event, there were lots of highs and lots of lows but overall a good time was had by all. Without our support crew (Mr Squid and Caz) we would not have been able to do it so a big round of applause to them.... To top it off, Mr and Mrs Jonboy, Rictus and Raf all showed up to cheer us on motorbike stylie.... :-D Cheers, S |
I must say, that I'm in awe of The Penguins' determination and resilience. I was bushed by the end of it - and I'd not even had to walk 100km!
It was a phenonomnonnoennomonal achievement - so if you managed to sponsor them then rest assured your money went to a very good cause. On a biking note, there are some brilliant roads down there (and pubs with yummy food... not cos Ian and I went in them or anything, honest, they just looked nice but we didn't try them or anything like that, ooh noo...) - so a re-cap on 2-wheels this summer is definitely in order. |
