Streetfighter headlights options
Hi
I'm looking for a tasty headlight set up, ideally with the headlights being one on top of another as opposed to side by side. Also would be interested in those little bikini fairings with inbuilt lights, similar to those on the KTM Duke: http://bariqiya.jp/img/moto/ktm/duke.jpg Had a look on Pyramid's website and saw one similar to above on their project Hornet, just wondered whether anyone had used one and whether the fittings are universal? Any help much appreciated. Cheers Jase |
The Mantis? Search for "Mantis and SV" on Ebay, you'll see pics of one fitted to an SV- worth a wee email to the seller I think. Not cheap though. Great lights, the fairing's a wee bit plasticky and, well, ugly IMO but they'd tidy up lovely

You're right it aint cheap at £180 plus postage. Sheesh!!!
It's for a Triumph Speed4 by the way, so some of you Trumpet owners may be able to be of assistance? |
Saying that, it's a hell of a sight cheaper than the standard Triumph Speed 4 set up. Could be a go-er.

A whole lot cheaper than getting an Acerbis Blitz then riding into a ditch the first time youy go out at night :)
|
If you're handy with the tools a 'busa headlight looks pretty good, or a GSXR K4-5 with a cut down nose cone if you can get some damaged bits from a breaker or ebay.
I hate those little Acerbis units with the crappy halogen downlighter bulbs in 'em. I think my SV has a brighter side light. |
Don't like Busa headlights, but the GSXR ones can look ace...
|
Has anyone put one of those gixer headlights on a nekkid?

Having said that, I looked at the Mantis and decided that it didn't look right (doesn't stick out forward enough so side-on view looks like it has been squashed) so I went with a Duke II unit. |
Found this lot whilst looking for some parts for a mate's Honda X-11. Don't know how they compare on price though
|
I've had a browse of their stuff, very much aimed at the serious modder but some of it is nice.
|
Ooh, forgot about those... Was looking last week to see if any would work on Scooby Drew's 636 (no). The Aggressive Headlights are interesting, not all to my taste but I like this...

Bleeding heck , you could have given a warning with regards to the price of that thing

Fit this one and go scare old people and children...

I reckon the cops should be allowed pull you over and just give you a good bollocking for having a seriously tastelessly modded bike.
The cop should have the right to just give you loads of grief, and have his mates take pictures of him pointing and laughing at the bike, sticking his fingers down his thoat, and so on. Then they can run a little a little contest on the notice board at thier local cop shop, "who slagged off the most minging bike-athon". I think I will post up a suggestion on that nice Welsh Policemans Blog just posted on SV650.org. |
You mean fashion police?

In in extreme cases, such as El Diablo (above), it would be considered "reasonable force" if they slapped you around a bit (after the photo session.) They will never learn otherwise. |

It was either those, or the grand piano, right? |
Nooo they were right about the piano, much better in the dining room...

For only 40 pounds you could have this :

Their universal belly pan is quite nice though, and not too pricey at £136.55 + VAT.

|
Not sure how it'll look either, from the front or side I mean
