Diving with Sharks

This was a birthday present from my wife and a long standing ambition (not an attempt to kill me off!)
One of the best days out I have ever had, will be one I will talk about for a while. I am now considering a cage dive with Great Whites in South Africa. Fun, fun, fun!
Me and one of the sharks prior to the dive... CHECK THOSE TEETH!

and me in the water with one of them

This was done at Ellesmere Port in Crewe and I would recommend it to anyone who fancies something different.

Where those bubbles, oxygen bubbles, or you getting nervous!!

lynw 20-07-06 09:45 PM

oooooooooooooooooh can you pm me the details? I so want to do that.

Im trying to wangle the South Africa trip next year so I can do exactly that - go down in a cage and see the great whites. I have a lifelong fascination with sharks - awesome creatures.

Did you know theres over 30 species of sharks in British waters. :D

 Did you do the full day, or at least, the Most expensive dive?

simple simon 21-07-06 11:01 AM

It was pretty much a full day thing. Wandered round the aquarium for a couple of hours and then the training, safety lectures, actual dive was about 4-5 hours.

Great day out for the spectators too. I have some awesome video from the walkthrough tunnels.

A friend of mine does the Great whites dives in Australia if anyone wants the contact. I am sure he can supply some details about certain providers in South Africa too as he is diving all over the world (mind you nowhere near as much as Ronaldo does).

Thankyou. :D

Dave the Rave is your mate based in Western Australia? One place I never managed to get to while I was there. But if I get the Oz trip I will be in touch. :D

When I lived in Cape Town I had a mate who was a commercial diver and he used to work at the Two Oceans Aquarium, cleaning the tanks. There was a baby Raggie in one of the tanks that used to pay him WAY too much attention - I named it 'Nibbles'  He wasn't amused
