Tech support// please help (windows desktop)
hi all just need a little help please.
I have windows xp, recently but i don't know how on my desktop screen i have a large blue bar sitting to the left of my screen. It has folder tasks other places details marked on it in exactly the same fashion as i have typed it above I want to get rid of it but i don't know how can you guys please help me?? it's really anoying me now :evil: cheers all. |
Have you recently installed new software? Looks like its an active application, try to right click on it and see if there is an exit or help menu

no there is nothing open/ running

You haven't moved the taskbar from the bottom of the screen tot he side of the screen have you?

go in to control panel > add or remove programs >
then look for ****bar or something. Often these programs are hiding some spyware. Maybe try downloading an anti spyware program. It might solve it |
Take a screen shot of this so that we can have a look at what you are on about.

Press the print screen button, open Paint and press ctrl-v then save and upload using the add image button on the left of when you post a reply here.

Right click on your task bar at the bottom of the screen and go to toolbars. have a look what is checked in there and you should see what the bar is. Uncheck and ok.

I've seen this before and it needs a registry fix. I can't remember the key location but have found this site with a script that should sort it for you. :D
