Smokin' Aces.

Like an MTV video with guns, blood and gore.
Saw this last night, if you like early Tartantino/Rodriguez kinda guns and gore fests.
Great cast Ben Affleck, Ray Liotta, Alicia Keys, Jeremy Piven...

It could just be me that laughs at the bloody bits when the rest of the audience is going green...

I was just thinking you were gonna say something. I would say it was a wait for DVD type movie, but some of the action needs the big screen.

think its to do with the bolt mechanism that reduces the recoil by 85% or something like that!

Warthog 25-01-07 08:49 PM

Did you ever see Myth busters when they fired one into a swimming pool? It still packs a hefty punch! I wonder if anyone has made a .50 hand gun... :) :D

I saw the .50 desert eagle when I was in Vegas. I prefer the original which was in .357 I got some range time in Chicago with the .357 8)

Grinch 25-01-07 09:07 PM

That reminds me... gun club.

socommk23 25-01-07 09:09 PM

No, recoil is very low in an autoloader. Try a .455 Casull if you want recoil ;)

socommk23 25-01-07 09:15 PM

the socom is a .45 with a slide lock. silence it and all is very mmmmmmmmmm

You can't silence normal high velocity ammo, it has to be special made subsonic velocity. So the .45 will be somewhat neutered in performance.

socommk23 25-01-07 09:19 PM

but silenced never the less...the slide lock helps the reduction in noise too.

Grinch 25-01-07 09:21 PM

bugger there are none in the Portsmouth area

You won't hear the cycling of the action no, but if you need a follow up shot you better have nimble fingers.
Anyway only pansy special forces need silenced pistols, real hard men climb a 50ft cliff with a Fairbairn-Sykes between their teeth and despatch the enemy...

Best bet is outside the country. I have family in the USA and they have loads of guns. Nutters the lot of 'em. My Uncle is a regular at http://www.knobcreekrange.com/

Grinch 25-01-07 09:34 PM

I don't want to own one... just fire it off down a range a few times.

grrr!

So watch it 8)

9mm pistol
Shotgun using 3" deer slug
M1 Garand
Barett Light .50 Cal

They also used it in the 'person-being-shot-flies-backwards' myth and it moved a Crash test dummy a mere 2" backwards.

Gonna need a good connection though to run it at speed....unless you leave it to download for an hour

Rossi_C 26-01-07 09:53 AM

I currently own one of these "legally" in the UK

http://paintball.aventure.free.fr/im...0A5%20G36C.jpg

Can you guess what it is yet?

Rossi_C 26-01-07 10:01 AM

yes . . . not quite as exciting as an SLR Rifle I know but seeing as I cant walk down to the local Army Base and ask to try out there SA-80's it's the next best thing!

Anyone here into paintballing?

(Slightly off topic - sorry!)

As for the film, I've not seen it yet, but nothing inspires me that this is a must see. Might wait for it to fall into the bargain bins and pick it up for a few quid.
