Greetings from a new Bluey-Silver rider

After lurking in the forum for a while, I have finally collected my recently registered K6. It's a Bluey-Silver Sports jobbie with OEM lower fairings and it's great :D

Returning to two wheels after 14 long years out of the saddle, and it's like I was never away ;)

Would appreciate some advice on crash mushrooms - who makes the best and easiest to obtain/fit models?

Any SV650 groups in the Sheffield area?

Cheers

Tim

Welcome Tim! That Bluey-Silver is a fine colour :)

My advice on mushrooms is to do a search on crash bungs using the do-dah above, although that'll just get you 20 different opinions (I did say welcome to the Org didn't I?) and drop in on the Pennine Massive to see where your locals are hiding.

Go steady now!

At first...

'Ello n all that. I actually like that colour too... even though it is on a pointy. ;)

As for mushies, I'd always recommend R&G.

Its the best colour that you can get just now... I liked it so much, I bought that 1 myself.

Welcome to the mad house!

R&G crash bungs always get rave reviews, but I've never tested any of them out myself. Probably better that way...

I have a blue-silver 2007 pointy too!

It cuts quite the dash in London, although it looks really dirty really quickly.

Yeah, I know it's an old joke before anyone says anything.

Cor, what a great colour to choose! Welcome to the .org, proceed to the next room for straitjacket fitting.

Welcome, the best bungs are the ones you dont use. I got R&G on the recomendation of someone who did use them.

Fine choice of bike and colour, much mirrored in my own !!

Had mine for two weeks now and still loving every minute of it. Went for first service last weekend, bike not me, and I felt lost without it.

After 14 years away take your time getting back into it but enjoy every minute.

Hello,
regarding advice, keeping it between the hedges generally works for me !!!

Many thanks to everyone for making me so welcome :D

I had toyed with the idea of parting with large wedges of notes for an F800S; had test ridden both the S and ST with my mate Chris on a very enjoyable Saturday two weeks ago (thanks Rainbow in Rotherham, very helpful and accommodating to a returnee ;) ). The F800 is a great bike, but I had already ridden a 2002 carburated SV650S, and felt that an extra 3 grand was not worth it at this point in time

Previous wheels have included Beemers, shaft drive Kawasakis, and assorted British iron both in this country and Southern Africa. Even had a Suzuki T500 many moons ago; that was a hoot :)

Very pleased with the K6 pointy, and only want to build up the miles and get the first service out of the way - has anyone had dealings with Geoff Hall MCs in Sheffield? Otherwise it will have to be a booking at the Derbyshire Mecca of Claycross Powersports...

Really looking forward to the summer on the road and keeping track on the forum :smt024
