15th April 2007 Rideout from Boxhill - 8AM

It has been decided to have a rideout on 15th April based on the route shown on post #123 on this thread.

Here is the plan:

Boxhill: meet 8am, leave 8:30am

The Chalet (cafe) for breakfast: arrive 9am, leave 10am (those who can't make Boxhill for 8am can meet us here)

Fuel stop at Buck Barn Crossroads (shell garage I think)

Loo stop at Tesco in Pulborough (forgot to put this on the map, sorry)

Bury Hill stop for loo/drink/look at bikes: arrive 11:30am, leave 12

Midhurst stop for leg stretch

Newlands corner stop for food/drink/loo/look at bikes: 1:15pm

The end (or head to Boxhill for more bike ogling)

These times aren't exact, just based on our test of the route today.

Er... doesn't bother me either way - but who decided on the date? that seemed to be the only issue on that other thread.

Don't take it personally Sarah, I'm not trying to avoid you and promise if I'm physically able, I'll make a rideout (well after an OP or two and a bit of physio).

But not this one, sorry.

Cheers Mark.

Well it seemed no one could decide on a date, so someone chose and that was it otherwise we could of been going round in circles.

As in war there are always casualties and in rideouts there are always non-attendees. Theres gonna be loads of rideouts I hope this year so if you have an idea or suggesstion put it up and pick a date, some people wont be able to make it and some will.

Yep, an early date was chosen so we could fit more rideouts in. People would be able to attend at least one I hope, and there's a greater chance of nice weather on at least one rideout if we have loads.

Looking at the other thread, the date was getting pushed further back, it'll be Winter by the time everyone agreed.

Sam and I are definitely going to try and make this one....

of course, usual caveats of weather and memory :P

Sarah, be careful if you get an iridium visor. The finish rubs off very fast indeed. Anyway, black is the new black isn't it :D

Go for a black visor. Cool and understated, be like and look like The Stig off Top Gear

Remember to carry a clear one with you though :plod:

I've got a super snazzy Caberg helmet. It has a second, dark visor built-in which is operated by a lever behind the left hand side visor rotation point. I can go from being a normal, well adjusted rider, to being the coolest thing on two wheels at the flick of a switch.

It's also matt black (like the bike's frame and my jacket) and has super snazzy matt silver decal inserts. It's also called a V-2. Now beat that for authenticity.

My summer leather jacket matches the bike (same colour as yours) and the jacket was bought way before I even considered the SV!

Does that count??

Me gots that one too although with grey graphics. The problem I find is that the dark inner visor is not nearly dark enough when it is sunny. I really want a full dark visor but can't find anywhere that sells them despite the fact that the Caberg V-2 has a super snazzy (good word that) quick release system for the main visor. Might HAVE to go buy a nice Arai!:p

Caberg and super snazzy in the same sentence. Now there's a first!

..but thats just me talking, dont take any notice of my 'sarky' comment.
