Hi everyone

Morning All

Just joined the Forum and wanted to say hi:D After a long break I want to own an SV again. Used to ride a red '99 curvy S followed by a blue S curvy with full Micron n bits n bobs, strayed off the righteous path :( , been riding a ZZR and a Firestorm but neither felt so 'right' as my old SV's.............so this weekend I'm out looking:cool:

Question is, I really fancy a naked Pointy but.... I've a jolly booked for July, down to Santander on the ferry, get lost in the Pyrenees, then a wander up the West Coast of France to St Malo and home.
Do you think a naked would be too breezy for the trip and an 'S' better suited? Or would a bikini fairing suffice? I know it's all down to personal preference but I'd like anyones advice

By the way, great Forum. Think I'm gonna enjoy owning again:) :)

Welcome back! I'd definitely go for a pointy S, in fact I did...

Although I've never owner a pointy, I'd go for a naked, better day to day, and bung on a small screen for the trip, two advantages, more comfortable riding position for doing big mileage, second you don't get that nasty front fairing, and can remove the screen when you get back.

but that's just me, I'd probably go for the 1000 as well, just for the more relaxed ride.

Cheers Mark.

Welcome back!

Thew naked is definitely a more comfortable ride witr higher bars and makes slow speed town travel much easier on the arms/back etc. If you want to do err.. lets say more spirited riding, the S would be better, why not get one of each? ;)

Re: Hi everyone (returned to the fold)

Id go with the naked and fit an aftermarket screen like Mark mentioned. Get a decent tank bag to hide behind for the faster bits. Overall comfort for me each time and with avg speeds likely to be close to 40mph I think it would be fine.

or even better buy my raptor. its has a low seat, sit up position, tl1000 engine and is great for throwing round corners.

Indeed the raptor is a good bike, the engine is really good, with a bit of italian flair (unless you get the V-raptor, that's just wrong, sorry Kitkat if that's the one you have:oops: ).

Cheers Mark.

Thanks, bit of reassurance is what I was after. Thanks for the offer KitKat but I really want an SV....plus I can only budget 2k tops so the 1000 is out:(

Anyone got one for sale?

Buy a faired, see if you like the riding position, and if you want it a bit more comfy, fit handle-bar raisers!

cheeky git lol :???: well yes they are quite short. Im tall when I sit down lol. Couldnt reach the ground with both feet flat on sv it was a sort of tippy toe wobble on flat ground, camber on the road and I was snookered. raptor both feet are planted, its fantastic.

What's your view on Spurs? :smt064 :smt062

;)

gooner 25-03-07 11:56 AM

Re: Hi everyone

Spuds? Hmmm...

My views are tainted somewhat through the walk down Tottenham High Road each year to the Lane, when gawd knows what was thrown at us (me):smt100

Plus the old rivalry :smt047 ( yeh I know we're from saaarf London :smt047 )

but other than that, you've bought up the best young brit talent...good forward line starting to perform to their abilities...Dawson's ace (and King when he's fit) and you do play the game properly

'bout time you gave us some competition;)

I've just been nice to the Spuds:sad: , I'm going for a lie-down

Wow! Wasn't expecting an unbiased opinion like that. Are you sure you're a Gooner? ;)

As much as it pains me to say it, our team only manages to compete with your youth team. You're going to have an exciting, prosperous future ahead (if you manage to keep hold of your young stars)

Lehmann though :toss:

Well he's right in one respect, it is about time you gave us some competition ! I mean, you have some great players, you just need a decent manager to make you work as a team, not a bunch of individuals. And, although it pains me to say it, I'm actually glad that there aren't any Arsenal players in the England side right now after last nights episode :smt015

Bring back Hoddle..... At least he had some footballing ability and knew about tactics....

(There you go Gooner, I have tried to restore the balance :D )

.

Re: Hi everyone

Balance restored:D :D

Agree with you on Hoddle too, think he knows what tactics are

Shame he went wibble:geek:
