I must be lost...

Sorry for the Bristol Mofo invasion but I'm going to be in the big smog next week, and then again for 2 weeks in a couple of weeks. I'll be staying in Paddington and if my hotel has somewhere for me to securly park the bike I'll be bringing it. I was wondering if any of you could help me out and tell me if there are any twisties knocking around in this neck of the woods for after work, of point me in the general direction. I don't mind exploring

Re: I must be lost...

Not too many twisties in London as far as I'm aware. For that you need to head South a bit towards Farnborough, Guildford or Basingstoke way!:D If you fancy a trip down the M3 (junction 4a) then I can take you on som nice little routes. PM me when you are about matey.

Re: I must be lost...

Oh I will... As long as I have somewhere for my bike at night and some decant roads in the evening I'll be happy ; )

And the odd trip to the ACE I recon but twisites are the main requirment
cheers pal

Come to our local track - Pirbright twisties. ;)

I'm sure we can find it. I was thinking more along the lines of the Alton - Basingstoke twisites. :smt077 Besides you've been to Pirbirght more than I so you can show us the route.

Don't bother with the A272 between midhurst and Alton, some council ******s have decided to re-surface a huge stretch of it with a nice coating of tar and gravel chippings and apparently they won't be clearing the excess gravel off it for 3 weeks:smt120

Me thinks they are trying to deterr bikers from that route, as there really wasn't that much wrong with the surface...GUTTED :(

I've got to try and speak to the manager tomorrow morning here to see if he'll let me chain it to the railing of the hotel next to the front door

Wish me luck, I don't fancy just leaving it on the road not chained to owt

Re: I must be lost...

Stretchie - I would offer you a spot in my garage but not exactly in the city... Why dont you check if there is any other secure carparks in the area you can work a deal with?

Pirbright would be your nearest set on this side of the city of any real substance. If you have more time over the weekends Im sure someone on here will be doing something... although watch out for last minute arrangements. :)

Hey Stretchie, drive the bike through the hotel lobby, into the lift and take it into your room, do it quickly and they'll never notice...

I'M HERE

Got lost when I got into London (no surprise there) and found out my waterproofs aren't as waterproof as I'd hoped.. :smt081

They work, it's just that somehow the rain got in under my jacket at the front and I've spent the morning with a soaking belly

Fair do's. I'll be off to Alton on my own then.......sniff.;)

Let's see how the weather goes, I had the back end all over the show on the Hornet yesterday. Decided to go out in the rain for some fun, loved it but also nearly binned it. Think I found out just how fast you should go round corners in the wet.

Well I was considering the Alton, Odiham, Basingstoke route. I've not done the Pirbirght bends enough to be confident (see scary) especially in the wet. Up to you though mate, I really don't mind where we go. Have you made plans with Stretch to meet anywhere?

Yes, outside my street, he said he'll let me know when he sets off from London so I'm guessing meeting around 6. I'm up for your route if there's enough time before it gets dark.

yep, was fun, next time I'll have you Dan. ;)

Dan, All that joking I did about the Mofo's having no sense of direction. After the petrol stop at Tesco's at the meadows. I got confused and led them onto the A30 to London by mistake, and had to do a U-turn, back to the M3 roundabout.

Another ride tomorrow, Stretchie? ;)
