Not very active on it at the mo, but will be as soon as Forza 2 is out!


I used to play that, still have an account, but inactive at the mo, mainly for the summer probably, then when the colder weather arives I'll be back to PvPing in it again, with Coracao Ardente. :cool:

how does this work. my son has an x box and keeps whittering on about x box live. does he need special equipment. does it cost anything. sorry but im a silly mum who knows nothing about these things

Are you referring to an XBOX or XBOX-360?

Both have live accounts, which enable on line gameplay - i.e the ability to play games against or with friends by use of the internet.

You will need a broadband connection and a live subscription. The xbox 360 has a trial 1 month subscription included.

its just the normal x box. his father was going to get him the 360 for xmas last year but they were just out and he would not get it until easter. his dad didnt see that as being a problem. ****. anyway thanks for replying but you need to get much much more basic. live account? is it a button or cable i connect. does it need to be connected to modem. lots of you will be sniggering about this i bet but I really am clueless about it all. he wants to play halo against others. he has completed 1 and 2 and wants 3.

OK, first you need broadband, dial up is no good. Your broadband 'modem' (its actually called a router) will have sockets to connect an original xbox via a single cable.
I'm not sure of how much support or how easy it is to go online with the original xbox, everything is geared up for the 360 now.

Have you played MotoGp6 on 360 - I downloaded the demo and thought it was awful next to the earlier PS2 versions (OK, i was rubbish at it which didn't help!)

Has anyone playing PGR3 until Forza 2 is out? Or Gears of War which I am also rubbish at but could be good laugh in match play

Mostly playing Rainbow 6 Vegas or for some strange reason Virtua Tennis 3 these days. I wasn't that impressed with MGP06 but 07 is out in a few months and it promises to be better.

Firstly:

KitKat...If your Lad wants Halo 3 then sorry but someones gonna have to fork out for a 360 as it's NOT going to be released onto Xbox original.

To play on Xbox Live...the best route is to go into a GAME store near you and they have a pack in which is a Headset and 12 month subscription to Xbox Live with Gold account so he can do battle against people worldwide. You'll also need an ethernet cable going from the port on the back of the xbox into either your PC / Laptop or Router. Then just follow the destructions in the box to set it up. You WILL need a a VISA card or some form of credit card to register though.

Halo 3 BETA:

OMG OMG OMG Counting down to september 26th already...
The Beta although only a sample of the game meets all my expectations..The graphics are far better than Halo 2.
The Weapons have seriously evolved, There's now:

rocket pod: Big gun that kinda looks like a mini-gun but fires 8 missiles individually. Cannot be reloaded and slows the player down but what an impact it makes.

Nail Grenade: Fanbloody tastic, spreads like a frag, sticks like a plasma. Great for pinning to walls or the bullet shields.

Auto Rifle (forgot name): taken from the original Halo game but spiced up a bit visually. Constant fire but innacurate at any sort of distance.

Bubble Shield: Great device, drop it on the floor and it powers up a dome around you that cannot be fired into or out of. Enemy team have to run into the bubble to kill you.

Grav lift: like the bubble shield you can pick it on the level. Drop it ANYWHERE on the level and you can Launch into the air / over walls / up a cliff and get the jump on enemy.

Mongoose: Bloody fast but no firepower unless youre taking a pillion...and if you do, make sure they have a rocket pod.

Turrets: Great new thing in the game...you can pick up the turrets as well as using them stationary..Running round with a mini-gun doesn't really give other team a chance unless they snipe you :smt070

Nailer (i think): like the needler but non-homing, you can dual yield and mess people up pretty well with these.

Spartan Laser: Bloody hard to use on 0other players running round but devastating against vehicles...you have toi hold the trigger to 'warm-up' ythe laser and after about 4-5 secs it fires off, blows the warthogs to pieces in 1 shot :smt072

Man Cannon: Like the grav lifts but fires you forward into the battle field, nothing more satisfying than sniping someone flying towards you.

Land mine: can only be dropped on the floor but if someone steps on it they're mincemeat...as are vhicles that run over it.

Energy Drainer: Drop it on the floor and it strips the other teams shields so it's a headshot frenzy :smt071

Other things like the single weapon reload are a blessing, on halo 2 you ran out of bullets on one smg then had to wait for the other to run out before reloading both..not now. Deaths are far more realistic...you hit someone in the head witha snipe and they'll fall backwards, stick someone or rocket them and they're taking flying lessons.

Me too, been on 2 months so far. What region of space are you in/what type of player are you?

Still not decided on the PS3 vx X360 so waiting for some killer apps on the Sony to see which way I'm gonna swing.

I've got both and i have to say the 360 IMO wins hands down, PS3 has therefore been loaned to my brother. Games are better on the 360 and i have to say i now much prefer the 360 control.

Walked past the 360 stand in PCW as I often do the other day, where there is usually a game on demo. saw this footy game running, poor graphics and jerky movement and thought thats a pretty pants demo. Then I noticed they had changed the console for a PS3.
Incidentally, my games mad mate has just picked up a wii - he absolutely loves it.

My brother is Diversity 86; he plays Rainbow Six Vegas online alot! I.e. every evening after work!

So keep an eye out for him.

You can't go wrong with GRAW...i find R6 Vegas very similar except it is more indoors/room clearance, with more emphasis on teamwork/tactics. Plus how is it not a barrel of laughs rappelling down a skyscraper and smashing in though a window.

Vegas is the thinking mans GRAW :)

My little Bro's on Vegas every night Robbo007. He's pretty good on it but arses about sometimes aswell...like making a laser wall out of the movement lasers, he must have dumped 50 in 1 corridor :D

I'm mainly on COD 3, Crackdown, NFS Carbon or GOW. Just completed GRAW 2 but bro's thieved it off me so i can't go through it on hardest setting.

I rate Vegas over GRAW as it really rewards good teamwork and communication. Dont get me wrong i like to run around like a mad man with a LMG at times, but i do like to take my time and do it properly.

I have a play and charge, but its still in it box! Every time my batteries run out i go to use it but cant get the bloody thing open....its in that theft proof hard plastic. I keep meaning to bring scissors upstairs but always forget so just end up using new batteries instead, which i have a ton of. One day it will be opened and used :)

Anyone still play the original Xbox or has everone moved to the 360 now??? I still play LIVE on the xbox. Bit quiet these days though!!!!!

Other than that, I play on my Nintendo Wii. Awesome console. Multiplayer (like LIVE) is taking a bit of time to sort itself out unfortunately!!!
