Fitment of leathers

After wearing textiles for a year or so, I have decided to splash out and get some leathers. I was just wondering if I should buy them so they are slightly tight to allow for stretch. Infact the question I really want to know is will they stretch at all??

Mate, my recommendation is to buy as tight a fit as you can. It will stretch! Mine were so tight I struggled to put them on. Few days or riding will help to stretch them. Also using a leather treatment will make the leather softer to allow for a better fit. So I would say buy as tight as you can.

This depends on your natural weight fluctuation. True, this is probably more an issue for girls than boys, but if you know you might gain or lose a few pounds, think about how your leathers might fit once that's happened (and don't keep promising yourself that diet!).

I bought both my sets ofleathers so they were 'comfortable' - not too snug, but they did stretch and I have had moments where they were a struggle to get into, and times when they've felt loose!

Na don't give yourself excuses to put on weight, buy a 'spray on' set ... make sure they cost you about a grand ... its a great weight control method!!! :flower: :D

My new leathers were very snug, by the time I had zipped everything up I had been moulded into the "I'm riding an invisible bike" position.... they have now given a little and are very comfy to wear.

And bear in mind that on the hot days you'll be wearing just a t-shirt underneath, but its not always hot so you might want them slack enough to get a thick jumper/sweatshirt underneath aswell.

Tight tight tight! Forget comfort, weight blah blah. Leathers are designed to protect you! Leathers that aren't tight will 'fold' , grab skin and so damage in a crash. Avoid the internet, go try on in store and ask for help :) If you've already get textiles just buy a set for summer :)

I always just wear thin thermals under mine. If it's cold, I'll stick a jumper on over the top. You want them very fitted all the time - not just when it's cold!
