Motor flush
Hi there!
Has anybody of you ever used a motor ( oil circuit) cleaning additive like Liqui Moly Motorbike Engine Flush, or comparable stuff? Would like to know if this makes sense, or if it even could harm the engine??? I'm going to replace all fluids and filters of my SV 650 that I just bought as a first step and then upgrading the suspension and brakes. Next week I'll get matching Öhlins 9.0 linear fork springs an a brandnew YSS MZ456-340TRL shock with 56-95-165 spring, TRW Lucas braided brake lines and TRW Lucas street & track sinter pads. Very curious how the bike will feel after that! Cheers! wrenchman |

I suppose the only exception to this might be if the bike had only been ridden on very short journeys when the oil barely had time to warm up. After a flush some older engines would start to leak because the sludge was helping the seals. I've never used a flush. |

Warm the engine, drain the oil, throw the old filter away, new oil and filter and you're done. In the normal course of events, there should be no need to use a flushing oil.

as above..
but if like me you have had the bike since new (1000 miles on clock) i use a flush every other oil change to help stop the potential of gumming behind the piston rings. |
