What a great idea!

Why don't we all have our heads forcably shaved and have identity codes tatood into the back of our heads while we're at it.

Good idea imo. I know in portugal many bikes on the road have to have a little number plate (abt 4x4) with a number. It would make them more afraid of going though red lights. But it would need to be imposed strictly, it should also be done that they pay a small amount into a pot for insurance for accidents they cause.

Its a great idea but you know it will only get policed for a couple of months and then it would retun to normal.
What cyclists should have is some sort of insurance!

They would get caught on the cameras that monitor red routes etc, so operators would catch them.

There is no way this would be enforcable.

As an aside all red-light cameras I have seen work on induction loops and need a fair lump of metal moving at a speed to trigger them, so it would have to be people staring at CCTV to pick up and report law breaking..... Sure they'll be quing up for that job!

So a HUGE waste of everyone's time and money for something that isn't actually a huge problem IMHO
