swapping bikes

Changing sv650a for a very low mileage 2017 Kawasaki vn900 classic.
Riding suzuki was hurting my knees (not really the bike's fault,it's my knees !) and I couldn't be bothered with adjusting footpegs and controls etc or whatever,so hoping a more feet forward riding position (which I wouldn't normally prefer ) will allow me to continue riding without discomfort.
I had a vn900 classic around 2014 so I have some idea what they are like. Single front disc brake was a bit weak I remember but maybe braided stainless steel brake lines could improve the braking.

I hope it works out and extends your riding for many years to come. :)

Moving to a bike with decent mudguards, eh? ;):D

With the VNs having footboards, that must help with your knees too as you can change your leg position while on the go. Enjoy it!

Not my cup of tea but if you are looking to relieve the pressure on your knees, I can see the attraction. A bit uneasy about a bike that size with a single front disc though.

Yes, single front disc brake is a concern, hope to improve it somehow.

stainless lines wont help the braking performance. you'll just have to think ahead more. there should be a calliper plate that you can get for those callipers that allow you to use 4 pot callipers from the gsxr's. its a fairly common thing with racers and SV's

would that apply to the kawasaki vn900 front brake ?

A quick look on the Vulcan forums didn't show any easy caliper swaps, they all seem to involve fabricating plates to accept alternatives.

However, there did seem to be universal agreement that using EBC HH pads (the highest friction rating possible) was far and away the best upgrade to the standard braking system.

it should do as its an SV calliper so should be the exact same lug spacing and fitting.
