Brake light not working help
Hi guys,
Hope you can help, I came off my bike a few days ago and have since replaced the rear brake pedal. I've discovered that my brake light doesn't work from either the front or back levers. My front brake makes a clicking sound when being pulled in so i assume the switch is ok. The manual says that the brake light fuse also is a fuse for the the instrument panel (if i remember right) and this is fine so i assume the fuse is ok too. Can someone advise what i can check because i'm out of ideas :( It's a k6 :( |
Re: Brake light not working help
Have a look through the fuses just in case. Other than that I'm out of ideas. It could be that when replacing the pedal you over tightened the brake switch so the brake light is always on, which would mean when you press the brake nothing happens. Other than that, I'm stumped too. Sorry! Hopefully someone more technically minded will be along in a minute...

That sounds like good sense to me.

Re: Brake light not working help
The fuses are all ok. I've now disconnected the spring and tried pulling on it and it doesn't make the light come on.

Re: Brake light not working help
Electric person - bulbs are twin filament arent they? Could the brake part of the bulb be blown? Might sound daft....

Re: Brake light not working help
Something as simple as when you crashed the bulb/s were damaged or a connection has come loose?

Re: Brake light not working help
I hope the bulbs haven't gone, whole unit change as far as i know. Yesterday the brake light was on all the time and after some time went off as i was riding. I will follow up the suggestions here and respond back. I hope it's easily fixed. Beginning to wish i went through insurance :(
