Masters degree result - Get in!

Just had my results back from my university, the completely self-funded part time MSc in Information Security and Computer Crime I've been doing the past 3 years has been awarded a distinction (highest possible classification) and 2 lecturers want to help me develop some of my work from my thesis into a paper for publication. :D

I am well happy, time to get looking at other jobs, methinks ;)

That's superb. Well done and all that...

... jobs - hey, if lecturers want you to publish - you could end up spending the rest of your life within the 'closet' of academia and never have to face the real world at all. ;)

Though I wouldn't if I were you... just ask Dr Rich what kind of person that can create!

Get yourself to london for some big £££ then.

I know a guy who works in the docklands, has a nice £0.75m apartment close by with a New £80k Noble and a Focus ST3 parked in the underground carpark.

He works in IT Security for one of the banks based within the Warf

Oh yes, "slack-a-demia" ;)
I've been considering that as a form of 'retirement' after my mortgage etc. have been paid off.

Graeme, yes, IT security for the financial institutions is where the money is. I think I will probably do a few years for the MOD (not directly, via an arms company) first, get the experience under my belt/get accredited, then look at moving into this. Only downside is living in London seems mandatory (no offense to any Londoners, great place, but just not my cup of tea to live there). Maybe live on the outskirts and have a fun commute by bike every morning?

Thanks for the kind words folks. ::
