Anyone interested in doing the End to End for charity?

I've been thinking about doing this for a while now. But there needs to be a twist. We could do it for fun or we could do it proper. Maybe get Guinness in on it for the most people to do it at the same time or something along those lines. I'd like to make a difference while I'm here and while we all still can but aren't sure how to do it. Anyone got any experience in things along these lines or is there anyone who could help out? I only know a few of the Soho massive but I reckon half would be up for it??? (Soho massive butt in please!)

Maybe semi clothed? fancy dress? I've looked on the Guinness website and they're not very forthcoming.

:):)

Depends one what you have in mind. If your looking at doing on SVs' or the like then it will should only take a day to make it a challenage.

I have looked at google maps and it claims that end to end is 838 miles which will take just over 15 hours. If you avoid motorways then its 892 miles and will take 24 hours.

They did it in "Bike" magazine a few months ago on 500 quid hacks if I remember....

Think Simon Hargreaves won an an old Beemer - took him 10 hours or so I think?

I would love to do it, best to start at landsend in my opinion and work up.

One of my friends did this in a rally car for charity, only he stuck to west coast roads rather than motorways.

Get some hi-viz made up with landend to john o groats charity run printed on the back, job done.

you have to include breaks & petrol stops

plus you have to get to lands end to start & get home from john a groats.........
so most peeps will be looking at 2000 miles+ (£200 petrol money?)

I'm a possible - the main barrier for me is that it takes several days to do, esp when you need to factor in getting to the start and finish points as well.

And as for a gimmick - how about on monkey bikes?? can't be less comfortable than my gixxer surely...

PS. I am slightly concerned about your suggestion of doing this partly clothed btw!!

I took a direct quote from the google page.

I dont think riding for 15 hours with not even a wee wee break is good for the soul !!!
