Help, but not urgent... Indicator lights on dash...
Word to your respective mothers.
I'm having a bit of a techy issue with my SV: basically I have a set of Motrax LEDfire indicators and a flash it relay. Indicators are working fine, but the dashboard display which tells you that you're indicating seems to have gone a bit floofy. Sometimes I get a constant light on one or both of the lights, even when the indicators are off, other times when I turn on one indicator both the dash lights flash, but one's brighter than the other. Anyone got any suggestions? The indicators are working fine, but I'm giving the bike to my brother and I know it'll annoy him! (It's getting on my nerves a bit!) Fanks luvs. The Bear |

Actually, now I look at it it seems that when I indicate one way (IE Left) the other set of indicators (IE Right) have about 4 LEDs flashing at the same time.
I reckon I need to get some resistors in there, but how do I find out how much voltage is leaking across? |
Re: Help, but not urgent... Indicator lights on dash...
The circuits should be seperate, my first thoughts would be, has the relay got outputs for front and back, or a common one, and does disconnecting any given indicator make the problem go away? I'd be thinking a crossed connection or a bad earth. Or maybe a duff relay. If you use the old relay, it'll flash too fast, but does it flash correctly?

Well, on the advice of Monsueir Squid I took the relay out of the equation and wired the indicators direct: the didn't flash but the wrong ones did come on again a little bit, so it's not the relay.
