How far can I go?

Got a drop something in maidstone tomorrow so have got 260 motorway miles to do. As its works time (and 24p/mile) I though it might be time to see how far an sv will go on a single tankful doing just 70mph the whole way.

What do you reckon?

IIRC there is a lack of pertol stations on the south side of the M25 so this could get intresting.

Full to empty @ 70mph = 160 miles IMO.

Do we win something for getting the closest?

Might be an idea to strap a gallon can to the back, other than that yeah go for it

I have got 168 miles out of a full tank before, but then I don't ride at 70 tends to be a bit more!

Best i have got is riding up through scotland, saw just over 200 miles though i think i was getting close to pushing. Saying that my bike seems to be a bit of an odity... i can easily get 70mpg out of the bike!

Let us know how you fair!

I got to 300kms before filling up on the freeway at 110kmh (about 70mph) - and that was with a dozen bursts to 200.

Full to empty at 70mph you should easily get 200 miles, maybe not the 260 miles though. Try sticking to 60mph and sit just behind a big wagon - it'll be the most boring ride of your life right up to the point the wagon slams all the brakes on!
