Honda RS250R

Ok was browsing the Yamaha website and l found a link to Yamaha Racing Parts, which is a load of tuning parts for the R6 and R1. Not cheap, but I thought they were quite cool. I wondered if HRC did the same and stumbled across this:

Can anyone shed some light on it? Obviously not a road bike, but can joe public order one of these? If so, does anyone know how much they would cost?

Hmmm.
It says it's powered by an engine.
Remarkable! :D

If it's anything like the Yamaha TZs and YZRs over here, you place your order for the machine through a dealer that's got the connections and show proof of a racing license.

"The machines perfection cintinues attract riders."

Wow, if they put the same effort into their engineering as their spelling, it'll be 'entertaining' to ride.

I'd imagine Joe public can probably buy them; a lad I know in the US bought some (pointless IMO) 100cc race bike that was "not for road use" from Honda and it wasn't a one-off.

They're expensive little weapons- $16,500.

They are also availible on eBay for IIRC c.£4000 for the newest models but are rare. They are very special from what I understand, they are as close to a customer 250 GP bike you'll ever get.

All of them are just for track use, I'm not sure which series they compete in but think that some do race along side 400cc 4 strokes as the power/ weight is similar.

But all you would need is a form from the DVLA and an MOT and you've got a very special road bike...
