starter motor change

Hi all,

I will soon be attempting to change the starter motor on my 1999 650s and was wondering if anyone out there could offer any advice. i have just bought a 2nd hand starter off e-bay (mistake no1 I feel) as a new one was way to pricey. anyway when i do go to change it is it a simple case of remove and replace??

any/all advice will be gratefully accepted
cheers

Yes, very easy, and obvious, just remeber to put some silicon grease around the "O" ring on the end of starter to ease the refitting, keep the starter nice and straight as in pops back in.

taking the old one out could be a pain in the rear ... so don't be afraid to "tap" it quite hard with a variable pressure applicator or (nylon hammer) when and only when all the fitting bolts and wires have been removed... horizontally left viewing from the front.

and
as Fraser24 said on the refit.

It'll drop some oil when you remove it, so be prepared for that. I wasn't and I ended up with greenpeace on my drive hosing off seagulls for weeks ;)
