Does your dog watch television?
Ours does.
He barks and jumps at the telly every time another dog appears. If in a film a dog barks in the distance his ears perk up and he comes and has a look. His attention span is short so if the dog doesn't show up or is quiet he'll got sit down again. For some reason he will sit and watch Foo Fighters videos for hours, if you change channel he gives you the dirtiest looks... He goes berserk if Animal Planet is on and his nose sometimes bumps the power switch and turns the telly off. I dare not buy an expensive flat screen as he'll break it. |
Re: Does your dog watch television?
Our old Jack Russell used to watch TV, and react if there were animals on, but my current dog (a collie-terrier cross, possibly :) ) has never even acknowledged it. It's as if he can't see or hear anything on the screen or coming from the speakers.

Re: Does your dog watch television?
My uncle had Jess, a border collie that used to watch One man and his dog. Jess would run round the back of the telly:p barking.
My mate has a staffy and he must have associated bike racing on the pub telly with crisps. He just gets spoiled when there is any racing on. |
Re: Does your dog watch television?
ours remains oblivious, i think he's bored of soaps  (that my folks watch, not me  ) but he does know its time for bed when the coronation street credits go up i.e. actually gets up and goes into conservatory which i find amusing!

Not a dog, but maria's cat. Oblivious to the telly. However, there was one rare occasion when he was right up close and the F1 was on, and he watched it for ages.

Re: Does your dog watch television?
Out jack russell hates that advert with a dog that turns round. moneyu spuermarket or something similar
Also tries to play football, last night watching Rovers mighty victory over the geordie riff raff he thought big Sam could do with an extra 4 legs on the pitch. However, he just can't get into the TV no matter how hard he jumps at that ball. |
Re: Does your dog watch television?
Kodo will sit and watch it - sometimes I think because he's just trying to figure out what we find so interesting on there.
He will growl at other dogs on TV if they catch his attention, but only once was he dumb/clever enough to see a dog run across the TV screen and so then chase out into the kitchen, out the back door, into the garden to stare at the outside wall (right on the other side of where the TV was) where he thought the dog should be coming out. |
