How much has biking cost you this year.......
As the title says, how much has biking cost you this year alone? :D
|
Re: How much has biking cost you this year.......
is that including kit, servicing, sprockets/chain, track days etc?
petrol? insurance? Dunno - but the pleasure to be had riding your bike (hell even the pleasure of revving the engine at a traffic light or in a tunnel) makes whatever cost it is all worthwhile. esp as I could have been stuck on a grimy underground train instead...! |
Re: How much has biking cost you this year.......
It's hard to tell. A quick 'back of an envelope' calculation says about 2 grand for:
Insurance New winter kit New boots Servicing Petrol Edit: Forgot tyres and road tax. I've only had one new rear this year, so add about another £200. A travelcard for the tube would have cost me about £1300, but it takes me about 2 hours to get to work by tube, and half an hour by bike. The bike is so much more fun too. |

Re: How much has biking cost you this year.......
I really really don't want to think.
£18 every 4 days on fuel. 4 services done at dealer Set of tyres Crash bungs, mudgaurd extension, rear hugger, tinted double bubble, bar muffs (cos im a wannabe courier). Chain lube, sponges, car shampoo yadder.. Gotta be in the £3k region at least...... Its probably no cheaper than the train, but i have something to show, not just a little crappy train card. Also the 40-50min Vs 2-2.5 hours each way is kinda appealing. Oh, that aint including buying the bike in Feb. |
