Buffalo gear (opinions please)
Merry Christmas all,
I wear full leathers when ever i go on the bike but i'd like to get some textile stuff as well, some times the leathers are not appropriate, like now when the weathers crap, i'd like to wear something that does a bit of everything rather than having to bulk up with thermals then leathers then waterproofs if it's wet. I've seen some Buffalo stuff that i like, it's actually the Dart range, i can get the jacket and trousers for £100 which i thought is quite good. You get all the expected stuff 100% waterproof, zips, velcro, reflective bit, ce approved armour in the elbows, shoulders and back. I just waundered what people thought of the gear, do any of you use it? i'd like you opinions please. |
Re: Buffalo gear (opinions please)
Hi i have got a bufflo jacket dosent look very good but i have had it 5 years and nothing has broken and it has never let any water in.
i say great value ! |
Re: Buffalo gear (opinions please)
I'll second that. Had mine nearly 6 years now. Four crashes (all fairly low speed, admittedly) without any damage and is still pretty much waterproof. Only £100 when I bought it, it's more than paid for itself.

Got Buffallo textile trousers- have washed them five times due to fuel spillage, and they are still waterproof and look like new. Good quality stuitching etc and armour. I'd highly recommend them, and cheap too.

Re: Buffalo gear (opinions please)
I had buffalo trousers for years. During that period they seem to have shrunk to the point where they are a little tight around the midrif but there was never an issue with the quality of them in any other respect. Strangely my leathers seem to have shrunk by almost identically the same amount. Maybe its my wardrobe ?

Re: Buffalo gear (opinions please)
Think i have some Buffalo trousers. Fit ok, not crash tested, I dont' think they are waterproof. Too warm if anything (though they have a removable lining). I prefer my old Weise overtrousers though so the Buffalo stuff will get sold or given away.

Re: Buffalo gear (opinions please)
Umm, they are not gortex, my alpienstar jackect it is ace I love it, I need to get some alpinestart trousers for next winter, and put a zip in. I have a bufflo jackect its okay, but for sure not waterproof, it has hard arounr as well isn't the best.
I like the soft aromour, which have in all but textile bottoms its more comfy and fits me well. If you want water proof buy gortex, also a dry rider is warm happy rider, thats just me I don't like being cold, having hypotherim as well, I can say for sure I never want experince it again! |
Re: Buffalo gear (opinions please)
Oh so the trousers shrink - I thought it was me putting on the weight.
Watch out for the zips if you are not slim (like me) they are not very robust. |
