Re: Where to buy buy Ohlins shocks?
www.stevejordanmotorcycles.co.uk
I emailed them a while back, here's the reply: They are £517 RRP and we sell them for £480. Postage is £18.50 fully insured via Royal mail or DHL £14. Set up wise if you provide us with information such as weight, what riding you will be doing etc then we can put a base setting into the shock for you using the information that we have built up from racing and setting up SV650's with Ohlins shocks for other people. Steve can then advise further if a tweak is required after you have tried the base settings. The spring that comes on the shock is fine for riders between 9-13 stone. A heavier spring is an extra £40. HTH |

Re: Where to buy buy Ohlins shocks?
I got mine from http://www.crescent-suzuki.com/ .
I got a stonking deal as they were clearing stock (don't think they are interested in SVs any more!!). Can't remember exact figure I paid, but it was >£60 less than anywhere else I could find one! 8) Mine was for a curvy, but they might have pointy ones too? Worth a phonecall for >£60 saving innit?!?! ;) |
Re: Where to buy buy Ohlins shocks?
Loads of people sell shocks, but not very many really have a clue what they're selling... It's definately worth going to a specialist even if it means spending a little more. I got mine used, but in the box was a note saying "set up for 19 stone rider"- or so the dealer had claimed, in fact it was completely standard. If you're going to spend £400+ on a shock, it's nuts to compromise at the last minute and compromise its performance IMO.

Re: Where to buy buy Ohlins shocks?
Hmmm well jordan motorcycles sounds interesting. I might see about going down there some time, makes it easier all round I guess. Not cheap are they
Any other shocks that will do the job (with all the adjustment) for cheaper? |
Re: Where to buy buy Ohlins shocks?
You could try MC Technics in Suffolk (mctechnic.co.uk) If you buy rear shocks from them they used to set it up and bolt it on for you free. Darren, the owner, is well know for his experts suspension set ups in BSB and most of the magazines/MCN have used him for articles. I think he used to do a workshop/talk at EAMG occassionally. He did the Ohlins on my SV and WP on GSXR. Thoroughly recommend him for suspension work. Robin Hooker Racing just outside Southend, Essex in very good and has his own rolling road in his grounds but a bit more expensive.
Both supply whatever you want but mostly Ohlins, Penske, WP and K-Tech. K-Tech is good value and performs well |

Another vote here for MCTechnics, Darren does a fine job and his tea is hot and plentiful.
