I have gotten myself an International Driving Permit. Woohoo!

I can drive anywhere now! When applying the small print of form said, "Women are not permitted to drive in Saudi Arabia"....!

You don't actually need one to drive abroad but they are a useful translation of your licence.

1st April - no later as I don't want to shell out another £500 rent.

S'pose I should buy the bike now.....the lowered seat arrived today so I've got the hard part over with! ;o)

I'll be getting a website up & running in the near future - dealnig with the prep, the route, the kit & also a blog of the mis-adventures on the road!

yup - a 650 Dakar - if everyone on ebay would stop bidding on them!

I'm trying not to do too much prep or I'll just look at the task & cower in the corner under coats.

Got some vaccinations today.
Cashed in company share options.
Ordered a credit card
Getting a sim4travel phone card on top of my t-NObile sim
Bike fixing course starts next week.
Got a petrol stove.
Routes figured out & emails to embassies to confirm border crossings.

It's all just filling in the blanks really.....visas, cash, spare credit cards, copies of visas, tents, clothing, electrics etc etc etc.
