New parking legislation
I'm posting this in Soho rather than elsewhere as the new regulations potentially cause issues for us lot, especially with the current situation with our friend from the Met.
The new rules include a number of measures, higher fines, no parking in front of dropped curbs, parking close to the curb, etc. However, one rule particularly has a number of implications for us: Tickets do not need to be physically placed on a the vehicle this means that now, not only do they not need to issue us a ticket but Tickets can be issued by CCTV The new rules come into force on 31st March http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7184510.stm Dan |

Re: New parking legislation
Listening to the news today I hear that fines for "more serious"offences such as parking on a double yellow will get heftier.I think someone needs to point out to these numpties with far too much power that parking offences are not "serious"and that description should be reserved for things like rape murder and armed robbery which are "serious".
When we get some common sense and proportion back into the governance of this country we just might get the laws we need.I for one believe that the use of big brother surveillance technology for enforcement of trivia like parking should be stopped. We have this slegehammer technology, but lets keep it out of normal peoples lives and use it for the "serious" stuff. |

Re: New parking legislation
This is not the society my parents and grandparents fought for.Quite honestly its more reminicient of the countries they were fighting against.Whats most worrying though is the total compliant acceptace of this fascism by 21st century Britons.Shame.

Its not like we can vote this lot out and replace them with sensible policy makers. After all none of the other parties will turn the scameras off and loose the revenue it generates either. So what can we actually do? I' sure there are thousands of websites with thousands of users just like us who are irate about this issue yet our vioces are totaly ignored by those in power. Maybe BB & should stand for election at the next general election. lol. Anyone got a few hundered grand to invest in our campaign? |
