engines

Hi.
I'm new to the forum and haven't as yet got an SV, I'll try and pick up a cheap naked towards summer. I dont mind doing cosmetic work but I don't fancy messing around inside the engine and thats the issue so many bikes for sale seem to have or need replacement engines. Do these bikes have any weak spots that I need to look out.

If you're thinking curvy, then if the bike's been wheelied too much then the big ends will be knacked as this starves the engine of oil.
Also common for cam chain tensioners to pack in, but if it's not munched itself yet then its an easy fix.

IMO the SV engine is pretty bulletproof though, if it sounds right, and has plenty oil in it then it probably is.

Buy a pointy, they're more robust.
