Rear shocks again.
Being a smaller chappy I weigh about 11 and a half stone all togged up and ready to ride. When I ride I never take pillions, and I generally ride in a fast A road manner with the occasional motorway trip and some back lane blasting. I have a trackbike so I don't have to worry about track use on the SV. Over the next few weeks I want to get my SV to a state where I can do a little playing with suspension adjustment to suit me. The forks on my K5 have already been fitted with Racetech bits and feel great, but I'd like some adjustment at the rear. I can't run to a fully adjustable aftermarket shock right now so I'm looking at Gixer ones.
There are two shocks on ebay that I'm watching at the moment, one's off a Gixer 1000 K5, the other off a Gixer 600 K4. Both are the same length eye to eye (3mm longer than the standard shock) but the 600 has a 425# spring and the Thou one has a 450# spring. Do I go for the K4 600 shock, which is the softer one to suit my weight? |
