At this moment in time i mostly be learning about disk defragmentation(or as i call it - defadgementation) thanks to Luckypants :D This stuff is easy, i'll be a computer tachnician in no time. Yer right!

Now how do i clear my recycle bin again  lol (kidding)

Dodging the issue by not having a computer is not a solution :P

Yes and all that other stuff about cleaning up the dross windoze leaves behind that slowly kills your machine.

I have just got my "spare" PC up n running (due to a dead power pack on my laptop) ... it is currently dual boot (PCLinuxOS and XP) ... linux starts up in about 20 seconds ... whilst Windows takes around 5 minutes (I kid you not!) ... so tonight I will mostly be doing some "maintenance" in Windoze :/ ... then again could just delete the partition and run linux full-time and just be done with it LOL

My laptop is VERY slow to start up, something to do with the internet and Norton, when i disable both it starts in seconds. My desktop starts up in seconds and is like new, love it.

Part of the problem with this "spare" PC is that its someone elses cast-off ... so it's quite an old PC ... which is probably why Linux runs great on it, but Windoze is like ... well ... probably like my riding in the wet ... slow, and has a tendency to crash spectacularly when you least expect it ... but thankfully no lasting damage is caused :D

Norton is the worst program you could introduce to a computer. Id rather run with the virus's to be honest! ;)

Yeah, perhaps they should just drop the word "anti" from all their products ;-)
