Nice shiny bike no more

Not after I'd pulled it out from under the back of a Honda Accord.

Braking moderately hard for a line of slowing traffic and didn't spot the manhole cover that appeared from under the car in front's bumper...and we all know how little traction they give you. All my fault, no-one else could be to blame really.

Result is the front nose fairing, headlight, fairing lowers and Scorpion can are trashed, along with all the little bits like both brake levers, bar end etc. Carole Nash recovered me and the bike to my favoured bike shop and my claim is being dealt with.

I'm not too worried about the bike because I know it'll be rebuilt to my satisfaction by Flitwick Motorcycles, I'm just thankful I walked away totally unhurt and with just a small scuff on my Arai's visor.

You've got to be philosophical about these things. It's an assorted collection of metals, plastics and rubber - it's not worth huge amounts and it's insured. If it's written off my kids won't be upset, if they lose me then I'm the second dad my younger three have lost in their short lives. I am worth a lot more than the bike is, and I'm insured for a damn sight more...and I came off best.

Humans rock.

Glad it turned out OK for you
All the best for the repair & no sore spots appearing - hot bath recommended!

Sorry to hear this, Lozzo:(

Still, as you say, you're OK and that's the really important thing.:D

I've just hurt myself more than in the crash when I rapped my knuckle in the garage, whilst filing down the broken off end of the brake pedal to make a chunky key-ring pendant. That smarts.

Back on the road already, there are 4 other bikes in the garage I can use, including another SV :)
