daytona 675 vs SV650s
 

How do they compare to each other?
I know afew of you on here have the daytona. Is the daytona somthing inbetween a Supersport 600 and the SV?
Ive read the specs of the daytona but 1st hand oppinions of people who have ridden both bikes are what im after!

Never ridden one, but from what I have read I imagine them to be a full on Super sport bike, so nothing like the SV, but I could be totally wrong :)

Not ridden a Daytona 675 as it's a bit cramped for me, but luurve the Street Triple (most people will of course know, but for those who may not, it's the same frame and engine):cool:

There are few comparisons between the SV and ST engines - power delivery from the ST is a rush as soon as you twist :cool::cool:

Am seriously trying to convince myself that I NEED a Street Triple as well as the SV Sport ;)

I have ridden the 675 a couple of times, one of which I put 100 miles on it.

They are very different machines thats for sure. One is twice the price of the other so that gives some indication of what you get for your money.

The only thing that puts it between the SV and a traditional supersport is the number of cylinders. Ahem...

The 675 is tiny, with a standard screen that I found next to useless at anything over 70. It accelerates faster than the SV and stops better than the SV...however the SV kicks its ass in terms of exhaust tome...gotta love the twins...

The 675 is heavier on the wrists.
The 675 clocks are crap - I am 5'9 and I seemed to be looking through the screen at the clocks - and the digits are tiny.




Given enough money I would have one in my garage tomorrow.

I've said it before - you have to change your riding position with a sportsbike. I'm 6ft and never had to look at the clocks through the screen or get achy wrists. Why? Because I lean forward over the tank and bend my elbows. Sportsbikes can be comfortable enough, just have to stop riding them like a commuter! :wink:

Clocks on the 675 are actually really nicely designed. :)

Well seeing as come this weekend i'll have a sv again ;) and i have a 675 on order i can kinda comment here.

675 is VERY small and light, but also quite tall, full on sports bike whereas the good old sv isnt, havent had the pleasure (due to me bust leg) of test riding a 675 but next few weekends should see that changed.
Alot of people have gone from the sv to the 675 the 675.net site, with the right can on the 675 sounds sooo sexy!!
The sv is gonna be me winter hack and the 675 my summer toy

ive bought one as its ultra sexy, i actually fit on it (height and weight wise) and its not toooo mad a bike to move onto after the sv.

Chalk and cheese. The SV is not a patch on it in performance terms, but you can happily ride all day on an SV but I wouldn't recommend you try touring on a 675.

Don't get me wrong, I think the 675 is one of the best bikes on the road, and I rode quite a few when I worked for a Triumph dealer, but the SV is far more practical.
