Small progress on Bandit 12 wheel
I discovered something today which I'd not heard before- the SV650 rear disc doesn't fit a Bandit 1200 wheel (best choice if you want a fat rear tyre) but the bolt spacing is identical. Took a closer look and you would only have to machine off a very small amount of disc to make it fit. Might be useful if you're thinking of doing this mod, cheaper and easier than custom sprockets.

Re: Small progress on Bandit 12 wheel
you talking about rotor or sprocket not fitting?

Re: Small progress on Bandit 12 wheel
Sprocket, rotor is the same isn't it? This was a Renthal SV sprocket I had lying about but I'm assuming that the same will apply for other makes (though assumption, mother, **** ups, etc of course) The tangs on the B12 sprocket carrier foul the sprocket but the bolt spacing seems identical.

Any pictures on the 1200 wheel fitted?
Im interested. What did it ride like? |
Re: Small progress on Bandit 12 wheel
Fitted? Nah, not even close :) I started this as a quick project about a year ago but I've never actually got the job done, this was just a wee side note. I've had a change of plans... I like SVs with the bigger rear tyre, it's a nice neutral roll-in, sort of like the difference between a pointy race tyre and a rounded sport touring tyre... But not to everyone's taste I reckon.
