SV1000 tyres

Folks,

I want a long lasting but reasonable all weather tyre. I had Metzler Z6s on my 650 and they were great. However I guess the thou may need something a bit different.

I've had BT021, Michelin pilot2 and Z6s recommended. The BT021 and MP2s are dual compound and seem to be about £200 RIRO. The Z6 are a bit out of date so a little cheaper.

It has some very squared off vipers on it right now from the previous owner so anything basically round has got to be a lot better.

Thoughts?

Cheers,
Mark

Have Michelin PR2s on the Z1000 that have done about 3500 miles and still have plenty of tread left. Perform perfectly in the wet (done Cornwall to Sussex in a downpour as well as Bikesafe in a monsoon) and nearly enough confidence as my old BT 010s in the warm. They don't warm up quite enough on the edges to ride really hard in the corners on proper cold January days...but then I'm being greedy and I'm not sure what does!

Mattsv runs Z6's on his SV Thou, he always has good things to say about them on the bigger SV.

Yep - have had Z6s on my SV1000 for the last 3 1/2 years. Same as the 650 really, these are a great all round tyre if you want something that gives an excellent combination of feedback, grip, wear and overall confidence.
