I remeber his TV show from the 80's just I always wanted to set up my godfather (we were at war when i was kid) for Beadle's about, guess I never will now:( why is always the good people this happens too?

RIP indeed. However I well remember how there was a phase when he was treated by many people as public enemy n?1 over the stunts pulled on the public on occasion. Obviously by moirons with a sense of humour by pass,but it happened none the less.

Just heard Sarah Kennedy talking about him; she said that his private persona was very different to his public one. In reality, he was deep-thinking and very intelligent.

I guess that must be true given the success of all his TV series.

Agreed, top fella. Loved the way he pushed the big spongy microphone in peoples faces.
