Nokia N95 8GB
Anybody here got one that they could share their thoughts on?? I've the chance of getting a freebie one from Vodafone as a phone upgrade.
I've heard stories about them freezing up, hanging up, and the low battery life, but I don't know whether to go for it because of these stories. I mostly phone, and do the odd text, but don't go on the internet at all (It costs too much money, don't retrieve voicemail (costs too much).. Was thinking about the Samsung G600 or G800 instead for the big screen and bigger call buttons. What would other people with big hands pick if they're getting a freebie phone upgrade??? |

Re: Nokia N95 8GB
I got one from Vodafone and sent it back.
Basically they've put their own firmware on it, disabling certain features (wifi conversations etc). I just didn't get on with it (I usually use a 6630). But you could make a few quid if you get it and then eBay it. |

Re: Nokia N95 8GB
Had one for a few weeks to replace a w810i Sony on Orange(****)
Love it. No probs. o2 ( my niece works for them, so good deal;) ) not Voda. The old n95(silver) is the problematic one. 8GB has bigger battery , bigger screen and software revisions. Gen....... http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/revie...ia_N95_8GB.php |
Re: Nokia N95 8GB
NO!!!!!
I wish i could tell everyone in the world not to buy one of these phones, They are bloody useless. I've sent mine back three times because of freezes, crashes, battery life and its come back each time with them saying there is nothing wrong. I unfortunatly missed the 30 day period i had to take it back so I'm stuck with it for another 10 months, Dont make the same mistake! (whoops, missed the 8gb bit...it may be better, but i wont EVER be taking chances with nokia again....) |
Re: Nokia N95 8GB
At upgrade time for me last month I'd looked at G600, G800 and the N95. Customer services guy recommended shying away from the Nokia purely because of the woefull battery life. If you can easily recharge it daily then it's maybe not a probelm.
It is a bit of a lump though and agree with earlier post that the G800 is also big. I really liked the spec of the G800 but finaly opted for the G600 instead and it is growing on me. (Usually takes me a while to warm to new make) To be honest would have stuck with my Sony ericsson K800i but it has been playing up a bit. (Think the K810i is good too but avoid the k850i not heard a good word on it) The g600 is nice phone, neat size and quality feel, good camera (set it to best resolution), various owner reviews have said camera is not as good as SE's though time will tell. Also reviews have mentioned not being able to use music or alternatives for message alerts tone which sounds trivial (infact it is trivial!) Ring tone volume could perhaps be a bit louder but overall nice bit of kit. |
