By the way - I can highly recommend Pet Plan if you are looking for insurance. My old boy never had much wrong other than the early onset of mild arthritis. Five years of continuous medication that saw him right as rain... five years of speedily settled claims, never a quibble.
Tesco's, Direct Line etc generally have a limit on the amount that can be claimed for any single 'issue' - so if you are unlucky enough to have a continuous problem you can rapidly reach that limit. Pet Plan is 'Cover for life' as they call it - there is a limit, but it re-sets each year.
