UPDATE Following my Crash and viewing bike / docs
 

Hello All

I decided that this morning would be the morning when I would decide to eat Tarmac down the M5 at 70mph!!!!!!

Basically, from all accounts (not mine - as uncontious), I was pootling along at 70 mph, no one else was involved but the bike just went out from underneath me.

There was a biker driving his lorry who gave the statement and couldn't understand it. Next thing I knew was waking up in the Ambulance.

Injuries - Broken Scaphoid (Tiny little bone in thumb, how useless is that!!!!:(), very bruised all over and sore right hand also.

Bike - I aint gotta clue. The bike was picked up by Eriksons as I was out for the count. Have spoken to Insurance and they are arranging for my local dealer to pick up (which so happens to be where I got it). The ambulance man was also a biker and thinks it is mainly cosmetic (wing mirrors, levers etc) but guess will find out soon enough.

Anyway, praise the lord to the R&G's as apparently they saved the majority of the bike. Also praise the kit, mostly all ruined, but did its job.

Jeez Drew ... glad you're ok ... apart from being bruised and the small break ... and the minor motorway mods you've inflicted on the bike. GWS fella :)

Any off you can walk away from (albeit in your case - eventually) is a good one!

I hope you find out what caused the accident. Black ice maybe :?:Considering the possibilities in a 70mph accident, lucky it was not worse.

Glad you're not too badly banged up and hope your bike isn't too damaged.

This is the second time someone has just had their bike go out from under them in the last month or so. Very, very bizarre.

As the ape said, for a 70mph accident you have got away relatively unscathed.

Hopefully the bike is not too bad, but again at 70mph i would expect it to be a write off.

I'm a pessimist. :)
