One for the Legal Eagles: Helmets damaged by Odeon Cinemas
Hey folks.
Went to the cinema a while ago with my brother and his girlfriend, and was told that we couldn't take our lids into the screen. Fire regulations apparently. When we got our helmets back they were scratched and in some parts chipped. I've sent mine off to Arai for assessment and it's come back not suitable for use. We've been back and forthing with the manager of the cinema in question (Odeon Southampton) since the date of the incident, and he says their CCTV footage shows no mistreatment, but we know for a fact (because a policeman who attended the incident has told us) that the CCTV footage is incomplete: it doesn't cover the room in which the cupboard our helmets were stored is in. Now I have no proof of the condition of my helmet before it went in, but I know, as does my bro and his GF, that our stuff was damaged by them while in their care. What should my next step be? I can send you copies of all the correspondence if you need it, some of which contains more details of the incident. Cheers for listening. |

Interesting... the Vue in Portsmouth does the same.

Pay a tenner... take them to the small claims court. They probably won't turn up, and you'll win by default. Or they'll pay up to avoid an appearance.
