Suspension noise
When I go over a bump or hole - no matter how small - my front suspension feels like it is bottoming out.
any ideas? |
Re: Suspension noise
get some heavier fork oil and new springs in there?
What weight are you are you sure the head bearings are all tight and theres no play up front? |
Re: Suspension noise
Can you bounce the forks normally (with the bike stationary)? Do the forks travel as far as you'd expect or do they stop/hit strong resistance prematurely?
|
Re: Suspension noise
They bounce normally.
Bike is only just over a year old so should need to replace springs surely. I am 15 stone |
Re: Suspension noise
Oh come on guys, where is the classic response?!
They all do it! Anyway, mine does, and about half the people that come on here complain of it. |
Re: Suspension noise
oh really! ok - will get it checked anyway but thanks mate - a kind of clonk noise - although it don't do it initially, maybe I am just riding it harder lol!

Re: Suspension noise
these bikes are built for 10 stone riders, so you should at least look to put heavier fork oil in there, to improve it. Beyond that you have a springs mod, then emulators etc. Do a search, plenty of info on it as its a weak area.

Re: Suspension noise
put a nylon tie around the fork and you'll see how much is being used. But it is a classic query, it's usually down to the brake pads being knocked slightly

Re: Suspension noise
yep i get a knock sound as mine goes over a bump, not tiny bumps, has to be decent sized.
