What Gear????
 

Heya All

Been thinking, following my off I need to think about an all new biking wardrobe as the stuff I was wearing is trashed.

So on that note. What can guys recommend me, the only stipulation is.....

1. I need a Helmet, Leather Jacket, Leather Trousers (So could be a 2 piece.....but not a 1 piece). Must also be gloves aswell.

2. Cost wise, I have circa £400 to spend on the lot.

3. Styles - Not to concerned.

4. Colour - My bike (one repaired) is a blue K6. So don't want blue, but a colour that looks good worth it.

Anyone got any ideas or tips etc.

I downloaded a 'Ride' magazine best buy list of all sorts of thing. I can't remember where I got them from, but I'll gladly e-mail it to you if you want?

I would think about spending ?600-800 really, but thats just me....

You know go try on everything, see what fits, what you like, whats make u comfy on ur bike....I'm gonna say go for an Arai lid if that fits, try one on...

As for clothes textiels, gortex is ace! My jackect was ?175 I think, its warm its brillant thats alpienstar, waterproof boots ?150 ish I think which are aplienstar they are ace well. Get yourself a back protector as well, forcefield ?80.

Get the best you can, but make sure its fits well most important and all the above stuff, oh how u feeling today?

i got my first set of leathers today off ebay for £50, its a frank thomas 2 peice in plain black a year old in mint condition ! love the jacket but i look gay as george michael on poppers in em

Bluethunder - I've already got alpinestars SMx4 Boots. Don't want textiles as had them since been on the bike. Am more inclined to get leathers and keep some waterproofs handy.

As for an Arai lid, I just don't want to spend that much money on a helmet. Also, money wise can't go above £400 as got to pay the excess etc for the bike.

Leemole - I don't think I would look like george michael on poppers, but I am petrified about what I will look like wrapped in leather!!! lol.

Am thinking maybe of the RST Leather and textiles mix, but not sure what they are like.

http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/shop/p...oducts_id/1454 aria lid for £200, thats a good one will keep yourself safe, you don't have to spend loads to get a good one, though a back protector is a good idea, never get on my bike without mine now. Its up you buddy, but I would go for most you can, I will go without other things (new clothes, buying DVD's ect) , to get good gear, or put in loads of over time.

I have a back protector, so thats all good. As for the helmet, my crashed one was a Vemar and did its job great......so still undecided on that one. Anyone use an AGV? Are they any good?
