Tim's rant of the day
I am fed up, I complain to my council they do nothing.
How the hell am I expected to leave the small cul-de-sac on which I live safely because of a few mindless morons. I ask you. Can you see to the right to check for cars approaching on the A6. Can they see me waiting to emerge http://www.twsoft.co.uk/sv/junction.jpg To make things worse. The bollards you see in the middle of the road are the central refuge of a zebra crossing. If they consider it that dangerous that they installed the crossing, yellow lines. And even lowered the kerb for wheelchairs. Not that one could actually get past that lot parked on the pavement. |
Re: Tim's rant of the day
You tried asking them to park nearer their house? All you'd need is a foot or so and then they'd still be able to park.

Re: Tim's rant of the day
Print out your own parking ticket and attach it to the windscreens overnight

Re: Tim's rant of the day
I thought there was a law that say you cannot park within 10 metres from a junction...

Re: Tim's rant of the day
Maybe I'm being dumb, but if it's illegal to park on the pavement, and a danger to pedestrians and other road users, would a word with the police do any good?

Re: Tim's rant of the day
have a numpty who lives at the back of us who does something similar with all his rustbuckets sometimes 5 or 6 at a time taking up everyones parking spaces, its like the pi**in clampets ,makes it a real hazzard pulling out of the junction the way he just dumps them there.
what makes it worse is he,s the only one who has a damn garage, yet thats just full of junk which makes steptoe and son luck tidy. i,m gonna stop talking now as i can feel the blood starting to boil:hackedoff: |

Seriously though, contact your local Chief Constable by letter pointing out the dangers and obstruction these idiots cause. Send photographic evidence and make sure you send a copy of this lot to your local council. Good luck |
Re: Tim's rant of the day
or take the nasty approach....and tell your local traffic wardens  They'd have a great time ticketing them everyday. Presuming that parking on a pavment is a ticketing offence that is, like it is here in london.
I'm sure that after a few hundred quids worth of tickets had been paid they'd park somewhere else  And as anyone who knows me knows, i dont like traffic wardens....but i like this kind of inconsiderate person even less, grrrr. |
Re: Tim's rant of the day
I don't think we have a traffic warden within 3 miles of here. One neighbour calls the police about it daily. My local town councillor has been to see me about it and is chasing for something to be done. But it is down to the county council who seem to have no interest.
Ironically the zebra crossing was put in place when a neighbours lad was killed crossing the A6 there. If this continues there will be another death at this point soon. |
