Dan's crazy bike buying thread.
Okay, I have a dilemma. I've got a Hornet but I've also ordered a Triumph Street Triple. I could afford to keep both but would leave me a little skint. Plus I don't to have the Triumph a my only bike and ride it through next winter as it reallt does wear a bike down. So, would it be better to get rid of the Hornet and get something like a GS500? There are lots about even wth low mileage and I'm sure they will be cheaper to run, insure and service. This would give me extra dough to get the Triumph still and have best of both worlds.

Gs500?
Um, why not a naked SV? |
Re: Dan's crazy bike buying thread.
But why sell the hornet, when in your own words its the only bike that has managed to hold your interest?
I would definitely keep the hornet until you have had the triple for a few months, as knowing you it will be sold by then. That will give you something to ride. I think your problem is that in a relatively short biking career, you have splurged and bought pretty much every type of bike going. Thats left you with nothing to dream of. Get a R1 and be done with it. :) |

Come on Dan. We've all had the hilarious cheap GS500 loan bike. Horrible horrible things. Run the Hornet forever.

Re: Dan's crazy bike buying thread.
Speak to 21Quest about a scooter if you're serious about saving money on your commute. Otherwise if you think there's more to life than money, and at least want to make sure you enjoy the ride you do every day, save you're pennies elswhere. Like at AMS, for an extra ?60 you could have learned to service the bike yourself.
